Air Quality & Mold Analysis

From spore trap cassettes to mycotoxin screening and VOC analysis, we deliver the full spectrum of indoor air quality testing with same-day turnaround, color-coded Healthy Home Standard reports, and the accuracy your clients deserve.

Air Quality Tests We Perform

Every test follows validated, ISO 17025 accredited methods. Results include full data with clear interpretation so you and your clients can act with confidence.

Spore Trap Air Cassettes

3–8 Hours

The most common and cost-effective method for assessing airborne mold levels. Air cassettes capture a known volume of air onto a sticky collection surface, which our analysts examine under microscopy to identify and quantify every spore genus present. Results are reported as spores per cubic meter, giving you objective, comparable data between indoor and outdoor environments.

Method:ASTM D7391 / Direct Microscopy
Report:Spores/m³ by genus

Surface Sampling — Tape Lifts & Swabs

3–8 Hours

When you see visible growth and need to know exactly what it is, surface sampling gives you a definitive answer. Tape lifts work best on flat, smooth surfaces. Swabs are better for textured, uneven, or hard-to-reach areas. Both are analyzed under microscopy with results reported as semi-quantitative ratings or spores per square centimeter.

Method:Direct Microscopy
Report:Rare / Low / Medium / High or Spores/cm²

Total Particle Count & Identification

3–8 Hours

When a client reports symptoms but there’s no visible mold, a total particle analysis helps identify what’s actually in the air. This goes beyond spore counts to identify pollen, skin cells, insect fragments, fiberglass, mineral fibers, and other particulates that may be contributing to indoor air quality complaints.

Method:Direct Microscopy
Report:Particles/m³ by type

Allergen Panel Testing

48–72 Hours

A comprehensive screen for the most common indoor allergens: dust mite antigens, cat and dog dander, cockroach allergens, and pollen. Allergen panel testing is especially valuable for property managers dealing with tenant health complaints and for inspectors assessing homes where occupants have respiratory sensitivities or allergies.

Method:ELISA / Immunoassay
Report:Quantitative µg/g or µg/m²

Mycotoxin Screening

5–7 Business Days

Certain mold species produce mycotoxins—toxic secondary metabolites that pose health risks even at trace levels. Mycotoxin screening is the next level of analysis when spore counts alone don’t tell the full story, particularly in cases involving Stachybotrys (black mold), Aspergillus, or Penicillium species in water-damaged environments.

Method:LC-MS/MS
Report:ppb by toxin type

VOC & Formaldehyde Testing

5–7 Business Days

Volatile organic compounds and formaldehyde are among the most common chemical contributors to poor indoor air quality. Sources include building materials, furniture, cleaning products, and combustion appliances. We quantify total VOCs and individual compounds to help identify specific emission sources and guide remediation strategies.

Method:EPA TO-15 / ASTM D5197
Report:µg/m³ by compound

Exclusive to Integrity Labs

The Healthy Home Standard

Our proprietary color-coded scoring system translates complex lab data into clear, actionable categories. Every air quality report you receive uses this standard so your clients instantly understand what their results mean.

Normal

Indoor spore levels are at or below outdoor baseline levels. No unusual mold species detected. The indoor environment is within normal parameters and no further action is recommended.

Elevated

Indoor spore levels are moderately above outdoor baseline, or specific indicator species are present at notable concentrations. Further investigation is warranted to identify the moisture source or contamination origin.

Action Needed

Indoor spore levels significantly exceed outdoor levels, or hazardous species such as Stachybotrys or Chaetomium are confirmed. Professional remediation is strongly recommended before continued occupancy.

The Healthy Home Standard is applied to every mold and air quality report. Combined with our detailed genus breakdown and plain-language interpretation, it gives you a complete communication tool that builds client confidence and drives action.

Reports That Work for You

Client-Ready Reports, Customized to Your Brand

Your lab report is often the most important deliverable your client receives. It needs to be clear, professional, and easy to understand. Generic lab printouts full of raw data don't cut it when you're trying to communicate actionable information to homeowners, property managers, or insurance adjusters.

That's why we designed our reporting system around your needs. Every report features our Healthy Home Standard color-coding, a complete genus breakdown with indoor-outdoor comparisons, and a plain-language interpretation section that explains what the numbers actually mean.

Need your reports branded with your company logo and contact information? We offer fully customizable templates so your deliverables look like they came from your business, because they did.

What's in Every Report

Color-Coded Scoring

Every air quality report uses our green / orange / red Healthy Home Standard so clients, property managers, and even insurance adjusters can understand results at a glance—no scientific background required.

Branded Report Templates

Your lab reports should reflect your business, not ours. We offer customizable report templates that feature your company name, logo, and branding so your deliverables look polished and professional.

Detailed Genus Breakdown

We don’t just give you a total spore count. Every report includes a complete genus-by-genus breakdown with indoor vs. outdoor comparisons, so you can identify exactly what’s in the air and whether it’s unusual.

Plain-Language Interpretation

Beyond the raw data, our reports include a clear interpretation section written for non-technical readers. Your clients get context, not just numbers—making your reports a powerful communication tool.

Truly Independent. Completely Objective.

When air quality results determine whether a property needs thousands of dollars in remediation, the lab producing those results should have absolutely no financial stake in the outcome.

No Remediation Ties

We don't perform remediation, sell remediation products, or partner with remediation companies. Our revenue comes from accurate testing, not from finding problems that need expensive fixes.

Third-Party Objectivity

As a fully independent third-party lab, our results carry the weight of objectivity that clients, insurers, and courts expect. Your reports are credible precisely because we have no conflict of interest.

ISO 17025 Accredited

Our mold analysis methods are accredited to ISO 17025, the international standard for testing laboratories. We participate in proficiency testing programs and maintain rigorous quality controls on every sample.

When to Recommend Air Quality Testing

Help your clients make informed decisions by knowing when air quality testing adds the most value to an inspection or assessment.

No visible mold, but occupants report symptoms

Spore trap air cassettes + total particle analysis to identify hidden contamination or non-mold irritants.

Visible mold in one area, unknown extent

Surface sampling (tape lift or swab) to identify species, plus air cassettes in adjacent rooms to assess spread.

Post-remediation clearance needed

Air cassette sampling in remediated areas plus control samples to verify spore levels have returned to normal.

Water damage with no visible growth yet

Baseline air samples before and after drying to catch early colonization and document conditions for insurance.

Tenant health complaints in multi-unit building

Allergen panel + spore traps + VOC screening to identify specific triggers across multiple indoor environments.

Real estate transaction due diligence

Comprehensive IAQ panel including spore counts, particle ID, and surface samples in high-risk areas like basements and attics.

Clear Results. Confident Decisions.
